Kombo Breaker - Episode 50: We celebrate 50 episodes with John Davison (Gamepro), Jeff and Dan (Totally Rad Show), and James Stevenson (Insomniac Game
11/06/09
We promised #50 would be crazy and we feel like we delivered. Nearly two and a half times longer than our recent episodes, this behemoth may seem daunting at first, but we promise you'll want to sit through the whole episode. If for some horrible reason you refuse to do so, we're happy to provide the times for each guest so you can get your fix.

John Davison kicks off our first segment discussing his transition from whattheyplay.com to Editor in Chief of Gamepro Magazine. I know, I know, Gamepro does still exist. John Davison explains why you should care now that he's at the helm. We're convinced!

Totally Rad Show's Jeff Cannata and Dan Trachtenberg join us around the 40 minute mark to launch into a discussion about movie games and moreso game movies, especially in light of the fact that the Prince of Persia trailer has just been released. These guys know their stuff and it was a blast to have Jeff explain to us how Doom the movie could've been good.

Finally James Stevenson, Community Manager over at Insomniac Games, sits down with us to talk about their fantastic new release, Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time. The interview starts around the 1:47 mark and delves into a lot of the design choices for the game, and he gives the slightest hint of what might come in the future.

It's hard to believe we've actually made 50 of these things. We just want to offer our sincere thanks to anyone who's been listening since the beginning, all the way to anyone who might've joined us even just last week. We're really privileged to be able to spend time with people from every corner of the gaming realm and hope to only bring you more guests that you (and we) love.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 48: NPD Day, Brandon Belskey of the bands Julien-K and Dead by Sunrise, and Uncharted 2 Soiree
10/23/09
We have a triple threat for you on this week's episode of Kombo Breaker. First off, Matt and Brad are joined by analyst Scott Steinberg to discuss the NPD sales numbers for September. Then we catch Brandon Belsky of the bands Julien-K and Dead by Sunrise during a break from touring to talk about his gaming habits and the band's experience composing the soundtrack for the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen video game. Finally, Kombo's own Eric Frederiksen joins the fun to discuss the fun times and technical marvels that make up developer Naughty Dog's latest PlayStation 3 adventure, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. There's something for everyone in this week's show.

Take note, Halo 3: ODST fanatics. Kombo and Julien-K are teaming up for a special Gamer Night in which all of you out there can have a crack at playing against Brandon Belsky and any other members of the band that may show up via Xbox Live. Listen to the show for all of the details including the date and times. Meanwhile, we want to hear from you! Send us your comments about the show to kombobreaker@kombo.com or hit us via our Twitter account at @KomboBreaker. Until next time...
Kombo Breaker - Episode 47: Phil Kollar and Dave Rudden Join Us
10/16/09
We're all acutely aware of how often the landscape of gaming journalism changes, evolves, and sometimes it even starts to erode. We're fortunate to have a couple guys in a much better position to talk about the subject join us this week. Phillip Kollar, associate editor at Game Informer and former editor at 1Up sits in, along with Dave Rudden, News Editor at longstanding gaming journalism staple, GamePro.

What does the future look like, especially for two of the last-standing print magazines for the gaming industry? Check out another awesome episode of Kombo Breaker
Kombo Breaker Episode 46: Tony Hawk: Ride!
10/09/09
How about this time we talk about Tony Hawk: Ride? Okay, we weren't really asking... we're telling you. Kombo Breaker is back from two weeks in the nether to give you an interview with Josh Tsui, President of Robomodo. Robomodo, if you didn't know, is the developer behind Activision's Tony Hawk: Ride.

Josh talked at length about the Tony Hawk: Ride skateboard, the need to refresh an old series and one of the office folk that can't help but stand on the board whilst posing like he has little T-Rex arms. Which is more shocking, that image or the length of that last run-on sentence? You decide!

Join us for another episode of Kombo Breaker. The audio gets a little scratchy at times, but those interested in Tony Hawk: Ride need to listen.

Comment here for feedback. Tell us who else you want on the show. Ask questions. Bitch, complain, what-have-you... Follow us on Twitter (@kombobreaker) or email us at kombobreaker@kombo.com.

Kombo Breaker - Episode 43: Berghammer Meets Breaker
09/07/09
We got caught up in the Labor Day weekend hysteria and were late coming with this week's episode, but late is better than never right? Besides, this means the wait to next week's episode is that much shorter.

We were extremely excited to have Billy Berghammer of G4 join us this week to talk about the network, their newly launched site companion, the slew of conventions he's bounced to and from all summer, and more. We also spent the first portion of the show with Matt giving us a rundown on why Batman: Arkhum Asylum is easily the best Batman game ever.

Kombo Breaker - Episode 42
08/30/09
Dan's absent this week but in his stead we welcomed Matthew Rorie from Obsidian Entertainment, aka the people that are bringing you Alpha Protocol. We chatted about how to talk to the ladies, why you're not allowed to play as a lady and oh so much more. James Bond, Jason Bourne and Jack Bauer are all listening to this week's show, and so should you.

And once you've gotten your fill of Kombo Breaker goodness please head over to iTunes and write up a review of the show. Tell us we're awesome, tell us we suck, tell us your secret recipe for duck ala o'range, the important thing is you're giving us feedback! Also, if you're one of those tweeting types then please follow the show (@KomboBreaker). That's the place where we announce new guests, solicit questions from the fans and let you know when the show goes live.

So hurry and check out this week's show before this post self-destructs...
Kombo Breaker - Episode 41: The PS3 Slim Will Change The Console Landscape!
08/21/09
Huge news dropped this week at GamesCom; the PS3 Slim was officially announced. And, sure, we've seen this thing coming because of "leaks" for months now, but the official word has a damn good chance to rock this industry.

That's what this week's show is about. While we don't have a banner guest joining us this time, we did bring back Kombo's on Chris Holzworth to... smarten up the conversation?

Listen, subscribe and review on iTunes. That's the name of the game.

07/31/09
This week we had a great time with TV/Game writer Anne Toole on episode 38.

Anne has written in the past for games like Stargate Worlds, The Witcher, Wizard 101 and is currently writing for an upcoming 360 Steampunk title. We get into why game writing is sometimes subpar, what creates an ideal writing situation, and tons more.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 36: Phil Kollar and the Rising Cost of DLC
07/24/09
This week's show is about the pricing of content within the PSN and Xbox LIVE marketplaces. There's no denying that titles are getting more and more expensive as time goes on, and some of us consumers completely object. That's the discussion.

Phil Kollar from Current.com's Gaming section took time out of his schedule in order to join the crew. We also welcomed one of Kombo's newest editors, Chris Holzworth, into our folds.

Running below an hour, this week's show is a good one that we hope you check out and comment on.

Kaleb makes his case for why he is sure that the PS3 is still going to win this gen. Dan and Joey were unable to make it this week but Matt and Brad hold down the fort with the help of Kombo editorialist Eric Frederiksen.

Kombo Breaker - Episode 35: Peggle is like weapons-grade heroin...for your THUMBS!

PopCap is a fantastic company that has always prided itself on keeping quality in casual gaming. Every single one of their games can be considered a good one, and that's a pretty big feat for any developer.

This week we talked with Garth Chouteau of PopCap about their scene, thoughts on the division forming in gaming and the future of some great PopCap titles. If you've ever been addicted to a PopCap game, this episode's for you... so that covers just about everyone.

Kombo Breaker - Episode 33: This one's for you, Guybrush Threepwood.
06/26/09
Monkey Island... For a lot of gamers, this is one of the most SCUMMbelievable adventures they've ever experienced. The Lucas Arts title from 1990 is seeing another entry in its series. Tales of Monkey Island is an adventure game brought to you by the folks at Telltale; makers of Sam & Max, the Strong Bad series and Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures.

Alright Monkey Island fanatics, this week we talked to Mike Stemmle, a Writer and Designer for Tales of Monkey Island, and Telltale Games PR Ninja Emily Morganti. Kombo Breaker - Episode 32: Pre-Natal Vitamins!
06/19/09
Dig our new logo? @1984bySN over on Twitter designed it for us. Props to him and his.

We were fortunate to have one of GamePro's Features Editors, Dave Rudden, join us this week while Brad was off gallivanting with his wife. We discussed the motion control arms race that went into full effect when Microsoft and Sony both showed off their solutions(?) at E3 this year. Is it smoke and mirrors? Or is it the real deal?

Listen and find out why Dan thinks Project Natal will be an utter failure. The rest of the staff has opinions on this too, but do they matter?

As a side note, Kombo Breaker is stepping up it's presence and working towards delivering a fresh, funny and rewarding show every week. We love talking to you folks regularly, so drop us a line at kombobreaker@kombo.com and make sure to follow us over at Twitter. We're conversationalists. Also, make sure to subscribe on iTunes so you can get all the Kombo Breaker-y goodness on a weekly basis.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 31: Red Faction: Guerilla Asscoiate Producer Sean Kennedy Joins Us!
06/12/09
After an insane week at E3, everyone's happy to have recovered and be back home. That doesn't mean we're slowing down though!

We're privileged to have Red Faction: Guerilla Associate Producer Sean Kennedy on the show this week. Sean runs us through all the design choices for Red Faction: Guerilla and offers up a few tidbits not yet revealed.

We had several listeners chomping at the bit for DLC and we're happy to confirm that DLC (and LOTS of it) is in the works. What kind of DLC? You're going to have to listen in for that.

Also Brad gets a little heavy as he discusses his personal game of the show at E3: Heavy Rain.

We'd love to hear what you guys think of this weeks episode because we did a little fat-trimming on the show so that we could make sure we're offering a lean-mean podcast (machine?) that is exciting and to the point.

Email us at kombobreaker@kombo.com and make sure to follow us over at twitter: http://www.twitter.com/kombobreaker for sneak peaks at upcoming guests and more! Also, make sure to subscribe on iTunes so you can get all the kombo breaker-y goodness on a weekly basis.

Also, find out whether our guys like the new (old) format for E3 and what it might mean in terms of the future of the expo.

The Conduit's lead designer Rob Nichols joined us yesterday evening to give us the lowdown on the Conduit, where it's been and how it got to where it is today.

We ask hard questions in this episode and Rob handles them with extreme care and we're all the more excited for the game at the end of this interview.

This is a must listen for you Conduit fans.

Kombo Breaker @ E3: Episode 3
06/03/09
Glenn joins the cast for a final time to spill all the not-yet-revealed Ghostbusters beans (just go with it). Matt gushes (as always), and Joey grills Glenn for info as the anticipation for this nearly released title continues to build.

If you care at all about the franchise you owe it to yourself to give this episode a listen.
Kombo Breaker @ E3: Episode 2
06/02/09
What'd you guys think of the first day of the show? Microsoft, Ea, and Ubisoft all held big pressers that each had their highs (Mass Effect 2) and lows (Project Natal...)and our crew has plenty of opinions about each one. Brad, Joey, and Matt are joined by good friend of the show Glenn Gamble, who is eager to show off his gold version of Ghostbusters at the show. If you're at all excited for the game, you need to hear this episode!

A reminder: Be sure to subscribe on iTunes if you haven't because we are planning to offer daily podcasts from the show the entire week.

Kombo Breaker @ E3: Episode 2 is an excellent view of the first day of the show!

Kombo Breaker - Episode 30: Big Red
05/30/09
A quick look at what we've been up to this week is fitting for how much content we're bringing next week. Hoping to keep content coming to you daily from E3, Kombo Breaker is taking over LA! This week we all spent significant time with Red Faction and came away with a lot of impressions.

Is this a game you should be looking to pick up while checking out all the news next week? Listen in and find out.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 28: Estrogen Edition
05/18/09
Slightly late but just as good as always, we take X-Men Origins to task and further extol the virtues of fighting off Zombies with a bevy of foliage. The guys have been busy trying to prepare for E3 as well as Dan tries to stay sane while finishing his final quarter of college.

The second half of the show takes on the dirty duty of attempting to call out fellow journalists. If you weren't familiar with the Darkfall scandal that went down last week, the KB cast will bring you up to speed and try to figure out what might have been a better way to handle it all. This is another great episode of Kombo Breaker you won't want to miss.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 27: Estrogen Edition
05/08/09
We put our digital money where our digital mouths are this week by having on some special female guests this week. Joey's wife Meagan and Brad's wife Barbara continue our discussion on girls in gaming and girl gaming habits and it proved extremely insightful. We're also talking about Excitebots, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and also Dead Rising on the Wii. Verdicts? Tune in to find out.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 26: Coin-op.tv and Arguing
05/02/09
The first Friday in May marks the 26th episode of Kombo Breaker. This week's episode featured another new guest, Rob Welkner of COIN-OP TV. COIN-OP TV is a live, and archived, show centered around gaming and geek culture in general. If you've never checked it out, you need too.

So we talk to Rob about COIN-OP, our weeks and then we get into a little discussion about girl characters in gaming, which is an editorial that ran on Kombo a few days back. Brad also breaks down into tears when he realizes that he absolutely must buy a DSi. True story.

Have questions? Comments? You can comment here, tell us on Twitter (twitter.com/kombobreaker) or drop us an email (kombobreaker@kombo.com). We're listening.

You can also follow Rob from this week's show on Twitter through twitter.com/pennyman.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 25: Controlled Response
04/26/09
No guests means that we get to sit here and talk to you about ourselves. But look, we argue about some stuff here that's going to make you want to raid our houses while we sleep. We're okay with that, honest.

We'll cover all sorts of goodness from the week in gaming, we'll argue about the PS3 and 360 controllers, we'll even talk about Totilo's recent Multiplayer Blog departure. It's a good week for Kombo Breaker, and it all checks in below 1:30.

We've demonstrated that we can get all sorts of guests, so who do you want? Have questions? Comments? You can comment here, tell us on Twitter (twitter.com/kombobreaker) or drop us an email (kombobreaker@kombo.com). We're listening.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 24: Riddick-ulous
04/17/09
You'll hear a phone ring somewhere during the show. You'll hear it ring, you'll hear our guest Ian go 'oops' and then the ringing will stop. About 15 minutes later, Ian tells us that he has to go. He tells as that the person calling was Vin. Yeah, Diesel. We're ecstatic.

It's another week in the world of industry guests and Kombos being effectively broken apart. This week we had Ian Stevens of Tigon Studios on the show to talk Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Dark Athena and Wheelman. He even surprised us by sticking around in order to chit the chat and get all deep and meaningful about developing, publishing and covering video games.

By now you've all learned the method behind our madness. We like guests. We like bringing them on and letting them talk. Sure, we can do standard industry interviews, but the goal of our show is to deliver varied perspectives on an industry that's filled with thousands of generic voices. Not that we don't loooove other podcasts, we just hope you enjoy what we're doing with ours.

With that said... who would you like us to run out and get? You can comment here, tell us on Twitter (twitter.com/kombobreaker) or drop us an email (kombobreaker@kombo.com). We're listening.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 23: We're the Ones Being Interviewed?
04/10/09
We won’t lie to you, no sir. This episode is seriously long. But look at it this way: you can stop, start, fast forward and rewind as much as you want! That’s all kinds of freedom of which people in some countries can’t even conceive. Take some solace in that as you rock out to nearly 3 hours of Kombo Breaker… and liberty.

This week’s show was a lot of fun for us to do. We brought Glenn Gamble of Terminal Reality on once more; only this time we didn’t talk about Ghostbusters. Through talks with Glenn, we decided it would be interesting to let the prey become the predator, the submarine become the torpedo and the sandwich become the fat man… Glenn interviewed us on what it’s like to write gaming reviews. It’s no walk in the park, as indicated by the fact that our brains collectively exploded every time he asked us a single question.

And you thought the story about the dog with herpes was weird? This week Joey talks about life at a bachelor party/strip club/magic schoolbus while the whole gang talks Henry Hatsworth, the DSi, Rhythm Heaven, Peggle, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Wandering Willows, Matt’s Godfather II review, GTA: Chinatown Wars and a little book called The Greatest Sci-Fi Movies Never Made.

Big ups to Glenn for doing the show with us. As an aside, Brad and Joey are confirmed for E3, Matt says he’s coming, Glenn’s going for Terminal Reality and Dan’s falling off of the fence that he should be on… E3 editions in our future?
Kombo Breaker - Episode 22: Sprinkles and Blood Rain From the Sky
04/03/09
For the first time in months we are guest-less and we're okay with that. We're also Joey-less and we're border-line happy about that. Brad, Matt and Dan sit back and relax while discovering what's up with the new GTA DS game, Chinatown Wars, teasing Godfather II, and getting a full rundown of last week's GDC. Brad was lucky enough to go and you're lucky enough to get a first hand account of some of the most exciting games slated for the latter part of the year.

Sprinkes and blood, man. Sprinkles and blood.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 21: Guitar Heros & Gromits
03/27/09
Hey guys, change of plans this week! GDC has turned everyone's schedule upside down and with Brad out covering the event and Joey's wedding imminently approaching, We opted for a leaner Kombo Breaker. That isn't to say this isn't a must listen episode!

We had the pleasure of talking to the developers of Guitar Hero: Metallica and Wallace & Gromit's new episodic game. The interviews are filled to the brim with info and were a blast to do. Since this is the lite version, we are without show notes this week. Enjoy!
Kombo Breaker @ GDC - Episode 2: Infamous?
03/26/09
Sean and Casey are joined by our head of editorials Brad Hildebrand and news guy Jonny Hechema for a quick and dirty rundown of what was expected at day 2 of GDC.
Kombo Breaker @ GDC - Episode 1: The iFuture of iPhone iGaming
03/24/09
Sean O' Neill and Casey Ayers bring you special edition of Kombo Breaker straight from the Game Developer's Conference (GDC). Listen in as Sean and Casey tackle iPhone gaming and how it's rocked the handheld world already, and what the future may hold for it. This is one special edition of Kombo Breaker you won't want to miss.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 20: Wrecking Ball!
03/20/09
Kombo Breaker Episode #20 has arrived. This week Paul Edwards, Lead Designer for THQ's soon-to-be-released Legends of Wrestlemania (360, PS3), joined us to talk about the game as well as his previous life as a strategy guide author. Brad grosses us all out with tales of LittleBigGenitalia and Joey continues to game in spite of his impending wedding day. We also scour over several upcoming games like Wheelman and Ninja Blade.

Two words: WRECKING BALL!
Kombo Breaker - Episode 19: Glenn Gamble of Terminal Reality and Ghostbusters
03/13/09
Episode 19, awesomeness. We got together this week and were able to lock in Glenn Gamble, Senior Artist for Terminal Reality, in order to chat it up about the dev team's work on the upcoming Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Listen up, everyone on planet Earth loves the Ghostbusters... you'd have to be absolutely nuts to disagree. With that said, you need to hit the link below and download this week's Kombo Breaker for some great discussion.

Glenn let Matt, our resident Ghostbusters fanatic, probe his mind hole for all sorts of specific information. Fans of the franchise should know, right off the bat, this game includes all sorts of neat stuff from the production of the flicks. We'll let you in on this one: Terminal Reality had access to, and included in the game, a ton of music recorded for the film but never used.

But wait, there's more! The team talked info from the week that happened. Brad went to a THQ event for Legends of Wrestlemania, Dan talks CoD: WaW, Matt talks Tomb Raider and Joey (that's me!) talks Halo Wars. Pretty much one of our favorite shows to date.

I do want to take a second out to thank the folks at Terminal Reality for committing over 3 years of their lives to such an incredible project. We here at Kombo couldn't be happier with the level of passion these folks bring to work everyday. Ghostbusters is in good hands, we promise.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 18: Gamehunters in the Wild!
03/09/09
Welcome back friends! Kombo Breaker continues this week with the 18th episode behind us. You better believe it. As with the rest of our recent shows, we've managed to bring some guest action around. This time we've got the guys behind USA Today's latest endeavor into the gaming world, Mike Snider and Brett Molina. Mike and Brett formed Game Hunters, a blog dedicated to news, interviews and snippets of the industry. And it's so fresh it still has that wonderful new blog smell. We here at Kombo have to buy the silly, hangy, tree car thingies in order to get that smell. It's so......artificial.

They say they're "In search of video games and interactive awesomeness"... You be the judge. It's a great site with a solid tone and a fresh design. They've already snagged talks with Will Arnett and Neil Patrick Harris in their young 48 hours of operation. So get in there! GameHunters.USAToday.com.

On the standard fare side of things, we talk the upcoming remake of A Boy and His Blob, retro games for the PSP, why Dan's a jerk and we announce what's coming next week. Next week? Next week we've got Glenn Gamble, one of the guys from Terminal Reality. Terminal reality, of course, is the house that's building Ghostbusters. Nerd-out-city...

We hope we're getting better every week, but if you've got some thoughts or directions you'd like us to take, feel free to comment below. The show notes will be located in two places, below and on the boards. Discuss here or there or wherever your fancy.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 17: The One with Garnett Lee
02/27/09
Another episode of Kombo Breaker is here, because it’s Friday. Friday, if you haven’t discovered this knowledge nugget by now, is Kombo Breaker day. We’ve been rolling sans hiatus for about two months now, so the backlog looks all pretty and concise.

But enough about us; how about this week’s show? We were fortunate enough to fall face-first into a puddle of guests… since then it’s been all sorts of discussion. And this week we had Garnett Lee, Executive Producer at 1UP.com. Don’t know Garnett? Garnett writes for 1UP, but he also works specifically with a lot of the audio and video efforts for the site. His current shows include Listen UP and 1UP’s Game Night.

With Garnett in our midst, we talked rice pilaf (gross), carrot cubes, the story of me (Joey) possibly selling my Wii (no, but don’t get mad), the direction of gaming coverage, the gaming industry, print media and making a good show.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 16: John Davison Joins Us!
02/20/09
It's Friday and here we are again. We've been able to lock down two big name guests in as many weeks, and we hope that's a facet of the program that everyone's beginning to enjoy and believe in. I kid you not, Kombo Breaker isn't going anywhere. Next week's guest? Well, just a huge as this weeks. Stay tuned.

This week, we were lucky enough to have John Davison from Whattheyplay.com (formerly of the likes of 1up and EGM) come on and tell us what's for. We talked gaming journalism as a whole, the transition from print to online media and the current state of speaking to an audience of parents. We even found time to talk about our weeks, Killzone 2, Dan's Valentine's extravaganza at White Castle (I shit you not), and our thoughts on the DSi.

Make sure you pop into the forums to read our shownotes for this episode. And doubly make sure you check out whattheyplay.com-- even as a non-parent, this site manages to deliver some of the most unbiased gaming content on the net. I promise, no Dateline NBC scare tactics within. It's straight legit, 2 legit to quit.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 15: Jeff Cannata and the NYCC
02/13/09
>How goes it, tricks!? Another episode of Kombo Breaker on another Friday and you'd swear this thing is legitimate. It is, by the way, so don't go closing your media player when the boss comes by. This here is intelligent discussion!

What a show! What a week! If you folks haven't heard of The Totally Rad Show (TRS for short) then it's time you get learned. Jeff Cannata, of the series, was kind enough to stop by and blow our minds with a high level of gaming discussion and concept. We talked Killzone 2, FEAR 2, love for the PS3 and a little discussion about the Wii's effect on the industry. Joey told everyone about a dog with herpes and then we talked about the New York Comic Con. The episode is packed with upcoming gaming content, so if you're wondering about the stuff ahead (The Conduit, Prototype, Battlefield 1943, Killzone 2, Street Fighter 4, Fear 2, MadWorld, etc.), then I suggest you tune in.

We're trying to make guests a weekly-ish deal on the show, so stay with us and enjoy. Hit the forums for some show note action. You'll find points of discussion, trailers, links and maybe a few convos about the show.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 14: Bang Camaro Joins Us!
02/06/09
The show goes on. The regular cast is with us today, talking up everything from Resident Evil 5 to the NY Comic Con. We cut things slightly short to make room for our special interview with one of Rock Band's most prolific bands: Bang Camaro.

Bang Camaro's undeniable brand of 80's tinged metal has been a mainstay for the franchise and garnered them a strong following. On the heels of their latest album, Bang Camaro II, Bang Camaro's guitarists Bryn Bennett and Alex Necochea sat down and talked with us to let us know how the ride's been so far and where it's taking them in the future.

We're also going to be giving away some Bang Camaro goods. Want to know the details? You're going to have to check the show notes to find out! Details will be given in there, but don't miss this chance!

This is one episode of Kombo Breaker you don't want to miss.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 13: More Reliable Than FedEx?
01/30/09
We're more reliable than FedEx! Dan's computer broke, it's still not back from repairs. What did we do? Well, we stepped up (to the streets) and recorded, edited and upped the show without him. In fact, this week, we polled Dan via text message during the show and then digitzied his answers so that he'd people to deliver them in person... sort of.

That's right! Microsoft Dan!!! This week we talk news, cheaters, Okami and no Ghostbusters. Oh, and no near death experiences. I know what you're thing; you're thinking this is going to be boring. Phhh... it's totally not.

So, download the show here, stream it from Kombo or subscribe to it on iTunes. For you Zune owners... well, we've sent the podcast in three times now, still no luck. But we'll keep pestering them until they get it done. Hit the forums for the show notes and show discussion.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 12: K-K-K-KOMBO BREAKER!!!
01/23/09
It goes down easier the third time you try it, I promise. Kombo Breaker #12 is officially up and at 'em starting right now. This week was a little crazy for all of us... We played some video games, talked politics and even learned about how two of our hosts should never legally be allowed within 15 feet of automobiles for their own safety and that of others. The show checks in with some conversations covering possible film into video game iterations, some industry news for the past week and some hinting of upcoming Kombo Breaker exclusives.

If you're a listener and feel that there are some things that need covering on our show, pipe up and be heard. We're looking for questions, comments and thoughts in general.

So you better do yourself and the world a favor and strap in for some podcast action. Hit iTunes to listen and subscribe, or just download #12 straight from the horse's mouth.
Kombo Breaker: Episode 11 - Looking Fine in '09
01/16/09
"...Kombo Breaker is lovingly crafted from Win and hand rolled on the thigh of a virgin...everyone knows this..." -- Monkeylord, Kombo Forums Foruminator

We can't make that kind of stuff up. It's week #2 of the Kombo Breaker relaunch. For those counting, that's episode #11 over the course of history, and episode #102 for our clever re-numbering. We're here to confuse you, enjoy! This week we answer a question from one of our listeners, debate about the future of the Wii, discuss the proper Bustin' of Ghosts, discuss December's crazy NPD results and even manage to insult Dan so badly that he walks out on us. Yes, four of those things REALLY happened!!! Kombo Breaker is here to stay, and just to prove it we've provided another collection of notes for this week's show...
Kombo Breaker: Episode 101 - New Year's Relaunch!
01/09/09
Here comes the relaunch of Kombo Breaker; Kombo's weekly podcast. Our lineup, take notes now as there will be a quiz later, consists of four of the Kombo crew. We've got Dan Johnson, Matthew Green, Brad Hilderbrand and Joey Davidson all-up-ins and ready to get talking about 2008 and the sea of gaming it produced. Step right up and take a listen, this is, hands down, the first Kombo Breaker of 2009. Head over to the forums to gives us your feedback and insults. Once there, you'll also find any links that we refer to over the course of the program. Enjoy, and say 'welcome back' to Kombo Breaker.
Kombo Breaker: Episode 9 - Haloween Spooktacular
11/02/08
Sean scares us all with his crazy costume ideas and Dan stirs up a fright with his lack of enthusiasm for Gears of War 2. Phil is the scariest as all, appearing only as an apparition for the entire cast (translation: he wasn't there!). Join us for this fashionably late Haloween edition of Kombo Breaker.

After you take a listen, hop over to the forums to discuss it.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 8
10/17/08
After a week full of technical difficulties, this episode of Kombo Breaker emerges unscathed, even if it is a little late to the party. Join Sean, Dan and Phil as they discuss everything that's been occupying their consoles as of late. Everything includes Fracture, De Blob, Lock's Quest, Little Big Planet, and more. Sean and Phil were also lucky enough to be at Nintendo's Press event and got hands-on with The Conduit, Rhythm Heaven, Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop, and a whole bunch more. So sit back and listen to the guys hash out the latest games, rumors, news, and more. Kombo Breaker: Episode 8 is here.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 7
09/20/08
Sascha joins the regular crew of Phil, Dan, and Sean and they wing it. Yep, shownotes-less and ready to ramble they run the gamut of Peter Moore's no-holds-barred interview, Nintendo's possibility of being a contender in '09, the glut of games this holiday season, and much, much more. Oh, and Sascha apparently decided that Dan is a Nintendo fanboy during this episode. Who knew?
Kombo Breaker - Episode 6
08/29/08
After a short hiatus, the regular Kombo Breaker crew is back and better than ever. Sean takes the reins while Dan and Phil go in depth with their impressions on what could be the controversy of the year: Too Human. Is Denis Dyack's decade and a half project a magnum opus or a massive faux paus? We also run through the massive surge of downloadable titles and talk about what the future holds for them, as well as the glut of gaming conventions this summer.

Also, we're introducing a mailbag feature on the show and are looking for your questions and comments. We mean it: SEND US YOUR QUESTIONS. As incentive, any listener whose question/comment makes it onto the show will be automatically entered into a monthly drawing for a game! Post your questions on this article and you might hear them on next week's show! You're able to post questions weekly so make sure to keep up with the news on Kombo as well as the latest games.

E3 Post-Mortem
07/25/08
Sean O' Neill, Dan Johnson and Phillip Levin are joined by first timer Nathan Grayson to discuss the post-E3 madness. There were plenty of hands-on impressions on Kombo this week but hear more in-depth discussion about all of E3's best shown games. The guys then go on to discuss the state of E3 itself and whether it can last in its current state or not.

This week is a must listen clocking in around 2 hours and 15 minutes. You'll also be treated to a special preview of our newest addition to the podcast network, FTW.
Special Homefront Edition
07/16/08
Sure, our counterparts are getting the distinct privilege of tearing into Gears of War 2, Resistance 2, Wii Music, etc. while we’re stuck watching on in sadness, but it doesn’t mean we don’t still have an opinion about how this year’s E3 events are unfolding so far. Regular Kombo Breaker host Dan Johnson gives up his hosting responsibilities and relaxes for a little while he is joined by Dack (from Hardcore Gamer Magazine), Brian Langois, and special host John Perkowski.

We rate the big three conferences and sound off on everything that was, and wasn’t, announced.

Enjoy this special E3 homefront edition of Kombo Breaker.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 6
07/09/08
The Kombo Breaker Krew (I’m pretty sure I’m joking about that, but I also just might be that lame) returns to give you more talk on the latest news and games. In contrast, though, Sean details his first experience with World of Warcraft and fails to find it a labor of love, and more just a plain labor. Phil picked up Brawl this past weekend in-between his Kid Icarus concept-drawing time and Dan walks like an aggro-ing Egyptian in the little-known MMO A Tale in the Desert.

The guys also discuss the Dyack debacle and Rock Band 2’s announcement with plenty of speculation on whether Rock Band 2 or Guitar Hero: World Tour will reign supreme this fall. Give it a listen and, as always, let us know any feedback you have for us.
Kombo Breaker - Episode 1
07/09/08
No fancy names, just a momentous number: 1. This episode marks the debut of what we hope is a long-lasting staple in our podcast community: Kombo Breaker. Join Sean, Phillip and I (Dan) as we discuss some of the biggest topics this week, including: the release of Battlefield: Bad Company, our Left 4 Dead and Dead Space previews, Megaman 9’s Wiiware confirmation, and the monstrosity, in more ways than one, that is MGS4.

Since this is our first episode, make sure to drop us a line with any praise, criticism, or suggestions. We promise to listen, if you promise to keep listening to Kombo Breaker!

Got something that we should post on the site? Send it to us!

Can you believe that more people are voting for PS3 over Xbox 360 in the weekly poll, 'what version of Modern Warfare 2 are you going to get?" Crazy! Especially with Xbox Live being the lasting long-term appeal for the game. Also, make sure you become a fan of Kombo on Facebook!!!
