EB Games Canada Pulls Out All the (Game)Stops Online
November 23, 2009 | 1:45 PM PST
While most EB Games folded into GameStop in the United States after the two merged, the brand would continue to live on for several years in Canada, as GameStop had effectively no presence here. However, over the past year or so, that has gradually been changing, with newer stores and promotional materials receiving a sort of co-branding between the two.
More recently, GameStop has taken their next big step north of the border by revamping their website. Previously, the EBGames.ca website was absolutely lacking in comparison to GameStop.com, but the new GameStop.ca has a new design and eCommerce functionality which is more reflective of the U.S. version of the website.
Now, Canadian gamers are able to buy, play, and trade from the comfort of their own home, just like their Yankee brethren. And it's about time, too. Hopefully there will be more consistency with specials and pre-order bonuses, but that might be hoping for too much.
