Japan Speaks on Which Games Make Them Cry

Has a video game ever made you cry?
While there are some who scoff at the notion, there are others who are only too willing to admit to it. And in Japan, that's precisely what happened when Oricon conducted a poll to see which games did the trick, with the result and some sample comments being posted today.
The number one game for making Japanese people cry is Final Fantasy X, with one male in his 20s commenting that the fate selected by the main character was just too sad. This was followed by Dragon Quest V, which had one lady crying so hard she couldn't see the screen during Papasu's departure.
Final Fantasy VII brought in third, but Andriasang is unsure of the comments left by one male teen, "Because not only the story, but the BGM for each scene was incredible." Another in his 30s said "The game was interesting, and the Aerith girl left an impression."
Admit it, you knew Aerith/Aeris would be involved in this list somehow. She always is.
Love sim Clannad brought up 4th, but a surprising 5th place was Earthbound, or as it's known in Japan, Mother 2. "From the last boss through the ending," said a teen girl, "I cried so much that I couldn't see the screen."
For the purposes of the survey, Oricon polled 500 of its Oricon Monitor Research panel between the dates of October 2nd to 6th. Andriasang is surprised enough of that number were able to get a game like Clannad to 4th place.
Have any games made you cry, or stirred your emotions? Tell us in the comments.
