GameStop Hiring 15,000 Seasonal Employees for Holiday Rush

Ever wanted to be able to say that you've worked in video game retail, but don't really want to devote a career to it? Then GameStop may have the answers you seek.
RTTNews reports that the chain will be hiring 15,000 "seasonal part-time game advisors" from now until Christmas Eve in order to meet the holiday rush. According to the company, the reason for the temporary hiring spree is a combination of the launch of several hotly-anticipated titles with the recent price drops by all three platform holders. As such, they expect a lot of traffic.
The 15,000 new hires will increase the total headcount at the chain's 4,300 U.S. stores by 78 percent, and for the company as a whole by 46 percent. GameStop says these numbers are consistent with their seasonal hiring sprees from the past two years.
GameStop notes that training will be available to the new employees, though those who apply should be knowledgeable about video games and equipment. "The seasonal part-time game advisors can enjoy benefits including an employee discount on software purchases as well as the ability to try out new games in order to better assist customers," RTTNews notes.
