Kombo Reader Video: Out From The Side of My Neck: GAMERS?
September 21, 2009 | 2:40 PM PST
Sadly, I did not get to go to the Penny Arcade Expo this year. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I haven't been all that broken up about it since I learned of the small outbreak of swine flu. On the other hand, I do have my award-winning Official Kombo Anti-Swine Flu H1N1 Virus Repellent Portable Sanitation Solution...
Ah, but I digress. Of those who did make it to the Expo, some were able to attend and participate in what turned out to be a rather controversial panel which brought forth the question of what a "gamer" is.
In response to this, Kombo-ite TheWon/YouTube user Jodecideion (who has contributed before) has posted a new video from his YouTube series "Out From The Side of My Neck," wherein he gives his own thoughts on the matter, complemented by an amusing array of imagery:
...and once again, he wheels out Devastator to make me laugh.
I really thought I'd have more to say about this. "But...", "on the other hand," etc. But really, I think he pretty well nails my way of thinking on this subject.
For the record, I think I fit somewhere between "Casual Old 'Pro' Gamers" and "Hardcore lvl 1," as I'd likely spend more time actually gaming if I wasn't spending half of my time writing about games for you all.
