Do You Believe in Love (with a Video Game Character) After All?
September 2, 2009 | 11:43 AM PST
Recently, Konami conducted a most curious poll of 500 Japanese men, asking a variety of bizarre questions.
Among the inquiries were whether or not the participants thought of themselves as herbivore males (of which 64 percent did), and whether or not they enjoyed in-game romance (with 42 percent saying they did indeed).
"Konami's poll — if you are one to believe Konami polls — seems to indicate a significant interest in video game characters," Kotaku states. "One in five Japanese males polled stated that they have felt like falling in love with an in-game character."
One has to wonder just what Konami plans to do with such information. Are they planning to put it to use in a game? Or did they simply have money to burn and let their curiosity get the better of them?
Just for fun: what would your answers be?
