Gamer Irate at Kotick Declares "Gaming Emergency"

Activision CEO Robert "Bobby" Kotick caused quite a stir last week during the company's earnings call for the past quarter. Over the course of the call, as the price of games came into question, Kotick said something that did not by any means go ignored:
"If it was left to me, I would raise the prices even further."
Perhaps he was joking, but even so, no one is laughing. In fact, some people are taking it quite seriously, and are initiating a call to arms from their fellow gamers:
The main reason I wanted to share this was my amusement at the visuals decorating the screen, as well as what I would guess is the sheer futility of the gesture. Plus, bonus points for the English accent voicing the outrage.
Don't get me wrong, I support the notion, but Activision Blizzard is pretty much the biggest dog on the porch right now, and I don't think 7,541 signatures on a petition (internet, written, doesn't matter) is really going to sway their business plan.
On a related note, I don't think Activision is actually looking to raise prices; Kotick said "if it was left to me," which seems to strongly indicate that it isn't. I imagine they may know full and well that consumers wouldn't go for it.
