PopCap Games' Garth Chouteau Confirms Plants vs. Zombies to Other Platforms and Future Wii Support

On this week's episode of Kombo Breaker (check that here) we spoke to Garth Chouteau, Senior Director of Public Relations at PopCap Games, about the company, it's sight and the future. Garth was more than accomodating to our proding questions and even dished up some info on what's coming from the Cap.
We specifically asked him if we can expect more Console/Handheld content from PopCap, and if so, what we could expect. Garth kept most of it close to his chest while still offering up some juicy tidbits.
"It's safe to say that we take [the console] side of the business very seriously. We've had a lot of early and preliminary success...I know you'll certainly see more from us there.
We have multiple titles in the works for DSi, Xbox, PSN and we're starting to work on Wii games. So, we'll get there; but it is a little far from our real comfort zone. We're still experimenting, you know, getting a lay of the land, and figuring out how best to adapt our games..."
Garth then went on to note the success of Peggle on LIVE and how that's leading into, brace yourselves, the translation of Plants vs. Zombies onto other platforms.
...Peggle for XBLA is a good example of a game that we took that was popular on the PC and we spent probably twice as long as anyone else would have figuring how to make that game really good for Xbox and Xbox Live Arcade, and I think you will see that with Plants Vs. Zombies--I don't know the exact order in which that game will make its way onto other platforms, but it's certainly been successful enough, quickly enough, that we're looking at other platforms and deciding where we'll take that game next...
...I don't think you'll see Plants vs. Zombies on a mobile phone. I think you may see it on the iPhone...some of our games, we would just say, 'you know? We could probably sell a million of these, but people aren't going to be happy with it...'"
With the runaway success of PvsZ anyone could have guessed that PopCap would be looking to take the title everywhere possible. But this confirmation of our suspicions (and wet dreams) is solid news.
Make sure you snag the episode of our podcast. It's linked way above and I can't reach that far to re-link it, sorry. But we do talk about some neat subjects that you'll definitely be interested in.
