Boston Police Department Will Warn You of Zombie Attacks

No doubt, many of you remember the story of hackers manipulating road signs earlier this year in order to warn of the coming zombie apocalypse. At the time, many people-- gamers, at least-- linked the occurrence to fans of Left 4 Dead, hence the reason for posting the following.
As it turns out, there is no need for our fellow gamers to hack into public service equipment in order to warn others away-- at least, not if you live in Boston. There, as Universal Hub discovered, the local police department is on the cutting edge of technology, and use Twitter to inform the public of relevant information: roads closed due to car accidents, crime data, etc. And sometimes, they even answer questions from the public.
A couple of nights ago, however, the following was Tweeted: "INJURED OFFICER: Officer from district 4 transported to Beth Israel Hospital, human bite to arm, suspect in custody."
Naturally, this drew concerns that the undead were walking among us, ready to rise up and conquer those of us who don't crave brains for every meal. To that end, Twitter user Willcady asked: "@Boston_Police if that was a zombie bite, would you tell us?"
Responsible public servants to the very end, the Boston Police assured us: "@willcady Yes, absolutely"
And there you have it: If a threat akin to those in games such as Resident Evil or Left 4 Dead should start to make itself known, you'll be able to prepare yourself for the worst-- at least if you live in Boston.
But now you have to ask yourself, if you don't live there: Can you trust your local PD to be as forthcoming?
