Neversoft No Longer Making Tony Hawk Games
January 12, 2009 | 6:13 AM PST

If you grew up playing Tony Hawk games, at lease one of them, obssessively, then odds are you know and recognize the Neversoft logo. Neversoft has been the force behind the genre bendind Tony Hawk titles since the beginning. And now, well, they've moved on.
Giant Bomb picked up an interview with Joel Jewett, head of Neversoft, in the Great Falls Tribune. The interview article talks at length about Joel's path to working on Tony Hawk and, subsequently, Guitar Hero games. Here's what the interview has as far as Tony Hawk is concerned...
"Neversoft plans to release more sequels to the 'Guitar Hero' series — including the much-ballyhooed 'Guitar Hero: Metallica' set for release during the first quarter of this year — but the company has let the Tony Hawk series go to another developer.
'It's probably best for the franchise ... it's time for someone else to add fresh ideas to it,' Jewett said." -- Great Falls Tribune via Giant Bomb
So who will be picking Tony Hawk up? Giant Bomb points to Chicago based Robomodo... They are, in fact, working on an extreme sports title. Time will tell on this.
