Gift For Geeks: Make, Buy, Dream by Angel
Still thinking on that awesome gift to get your geek? Well then, here's some tips directed straight at you! We all know when it comes time to getting that holiday gift, sometimes it can be a nightmare. Here I will mention gifts to make ( for those who don't have a pocket full of money), gifts to buy ( for those who do), and of course...The Dream gift ( that would very rarely happen).
Making A 'Geek Stocking
Waking up Christmas day to find your stocking full of candies and little toys were some of the best times for many of us as we recall our memories for the holiday season! What better stocking for a geek, than a geek stocking? This is a very simple yet awesome gift. All you need is: 1 holiday stocking and their favorite geek stuff ( i.e. Halo, WoW or final fantasy). This is where you can get as creative as you want! You would take the stocking, decorate with their favorite things ( in my case I used pins but you can use just about ANYTHING!) and then stuff the stocking with yummy candies and super cool geek toys! It is simple yet thoughtful and much better than a lawnmower or some outdoor stuff unlikely to get used during the freezing months ahead.
Buying the Geek Gift
Definitely the coolest gifts for geeks that are within reason are the gaming related paraphernalia such as this incredibly sleek Custom ENERGY SWORD From the Halo series = $50 here forEnergy Swords

or if you have an MMORPG geek How about these World of Warcraft Epic Collection Steins = $80 Warcraft Steins here

or The LANCER from the Gears of War series = varied from $140-$200. I did find a place on amazon where you could get it delivered by Christmas! GoW Lancers here
In these hectic last days for shopping, many people don't realize that gamers get truly excited over getting games as a gift. For the people with a handful of cash this season to spend on holiday gifts, here is a list of games( listed by systems) that is on everyone's list! Ok, so maybe this is my wish list??? In any case, please feel free to get them for your personal geek… or me!
Microsoft Xbox 360:
Gears of War 2 @ $60, Fable 2 @ $60 and for something they may not have yet, Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts @ $40
Sony Playstation 3:
Everyone of all ages will love Little Big Planet @ $60 or maybe you have an older geek in mind? Then, Resistance 2 @ $60 will be a hit.
Nintendo Wii:
Totally fun for family gatherings such as the holidays ahem) wii Music @ $50, Animal Crossing: City Folk @ $50, and Star Wars Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duel @ $50
PC:

Of course! World of Warcraft: Wraith of the Lich King @ $40 and Spore @ $50
Multiple Platforms:
Last but definitely not least! Left 4 Dead ( PC & 360) @ $50- $60, Prince of Persia ( PS3, PC & 360) @ $50- $60, Call of Duty: World at War ( PS3, 360, PC & Wii) @ $50- $60
The Geek Dream
We all know what the male geek wants ( Princess Leia in a gold bikini anyone?), but for some girls, like me- that's not really on the list, so I included a picture from a site (pro tip- this is not me teehee).
I suppose you could buy it. Or here is an idea! Make it! Recently I made the White Mage outfit that I got to wear in the photoshoot for this month's cover. I suspect though, that you would not be able to make the metal looking bra out of fabric very easily. I have found this product which is incredibly easy to work with, can be painted, and stays soft thus easy to mold for hours. In fact, L337 Lauren used it in making her outfit for the C+2 calendar. This wonder material is called...drum roll please... Crayola Model Magic and can be found at craft stores. Also, I do have an insider line to someone who is a pro at these sort of projects. Just ask gamer model and journalist Essance for tips on how to make a costume if you want. She can help with the types of fabrics or materials to use. She is super nifty with cosplay outfits. Her email is EssanceDruid@Gmail.com)
Now, for some bought awesome dreamy gifts for guys or girls, how about these?
Nightmare Armor or Any of the cool armor replicas that Nightmare Armor Studios makes is AMAZING in detail and quality. From Halo to Gears of War to even some animes they have armor detailing down to the core! (http://www.nightmarearmorstudios.com/main.htm)
Or maybe if you are independently wealthy How about one of these puppies!
Sky Car Created by Moller International, the M400 Skycar is a concept car that can fly! Very similar in concept to a helicopter, the sky car isn't even actually a driving car, but a personal Vertical take off and Landing (VTOL) aircraft. sweet sky car goodness here
So there ya have it. I know there are so many more things out there for any budget. I am quite fond of ThinkGeek.com and numerous humor T-shirt sites, as well as, local comic and game stores. If nothing else, maybe I sparked a little idea that you can make all your own.
Whatever you decide to get, we all know the best part of the season is to be grateful for having a geek in your life at all! Happy Holidays!
