You're Doing It Wrong: Bus Driver Plays Portable Game While Driving
September 25, 2008 | 11:19 AM PST
Hawaii seems to have a problem with its bus drivers, as less than a month after one is caught driving drunk, another is caught driving while playing a video game:Denita Waltz took pictures of the bus driver playing video games as she sat on the Number 54 bus from Pearl City to Punchbowl late Tuesday afternoon. The transit service plans to investigate the driver, an 18-year veteran who apparently became a little too confident in his abilities, with penalties ranging from suspension up to possible termination.
Walker said she thought, "What the heck is going on here?"
She said the driver also put his right foot on the dashboard, but the scariest part was when he played the video game.
"With two hands… at times, while he was driving in traffic, yes," Walker said. "And also at the stoplights, and at that point I was very scared." -- KITV Honolulu
I just want to know one thing: What the hell was he playing? The media usually can't wait to make up a game that they'll say people emulate when they commit other crimes, but I want to know what could have been so engrossing that he couldn't wait for a break or something.
Kotaku postulates it was Hot Shots Golf on the PSP, but the original story doesn't say. If that were true, then somehow, it's just sad that anyone would be that addicted.
