Penn and Teller to Cover Gaming Violence
And then there's this... well, you know.

Whenever the mainstream media tries to figure out how video games and copycat violence overlap, the results aren't all that pretty. You probably know the score by now when gamers everywhere are painted with the "unstable killer waiting to snap" brush whenever someone puts down a controller and picks up a gun. Sometimes there's a little hope for us all, however. There's word from GamePolitics that noted skeptics Penn and Teller are taking aim at video game violence for an upcoming episode of their Showtime television series, Bullshit!.
GamePolitics has learned from embattled Miami attorney Jack Thompson that he will appear on an upcoming episode of Penn & Teller: Bullshit. The irreverent, issue-oriented series airs on the Showtime cable network.
Although we have little additional information, it is believed that the program will focus on the video game violence issue and will likely air in the spring. -- Game Politics
I've been waiting for this show to take on this topic for quite a while now. The duo have a knack for interviewing people from both sides of a hot button issue (past episodes have explored things such as global warming, Wal-Mart, exorcisms, and expensive trendy bottled water) with the catch that "wrong" side is usually represented by kooks whose incendiary methods override their messages. The show also uses excessive profanity in place of claims and statements that could be considered libelous. Jack Thompson ceased to be relevant a long time ago, but I must admit that I'm looking forward to hearing Bullshit! host Penn Jillette introduce him with the recurring line "And then there's this asshole..."
