Cease Your Panic; E3 Lives On
July 23, 2008 | 1:50 PM PST
Yep, I know there are a lot of you out there in a state of panic right now. Rumors have been flying that the ESA may not hold an Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2009, and after the blowout that was this year's extravaganza, you simply cannot bear the thought of a single year going by without this gathering of the titans, wherein they pass out magic lamps that grant our hearts' fondest desires.
No, dear friends, that is simply not the case, for the ESA is planning at least one more event (hey, 2010 is two years away-- do you know what you're doing in two years?) to be held next year... with further details pending. Unimportant stuff, like where and when-- my prediction is July for when, and my hope for where is hopefully not another hangar.
"As we do every year, we're beginning the process of surveying exhibitors and attendees to determine potential changes to the summit," an ESA representative told GameSpot, blissfully unaware of the collective shedding of tears by journalists everywhere. "Once this is completed and shared with the ESA's Board of Directors, we will make an announcement about the specifics of the 2009 E3 Media & Business Summit, which will occur."
Yippee. Can't wait.
