Simpsons Animator Attempts to Revive Saturday Morning Sonic

When Sonic the Hedgehog first hit his stride, he became the subject of several cartoons by DiC Entertainment (who, ironically for the time, had just finished producing cartoons based on Nintendo's properties). Initially, there were two, with the first being the syndicated Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, a slapstick cartoon which ran weekdays as Sonic and Tails fought off Badniks Scratch, Grounder, Coconuts, and their evil master, Dr. Robotnik.
The other cartoon, simply titled "Sonic the Hedgehog" (but often referred to as "SatAM" by fans) was aired on ABC, though rather erratically; it was meant for Saturday mornings, but some areas would only show it at 5:30am Sunday morning... if at all. It was a more action/adventure-based fare, using a cast of characters shared with the comic book by Archie, and generally more well-received by fans.
Now, Matthew Sullivan, an animator who has worked on cartoons such as The Simpsons, Family Guy, and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, would like it very much if the cartoon were to be revived, long after its second-season cliffhanger finale.
"I feel compelled to say this is only a pitch," said Sullivan. "I have no guarantee of success, nor will I claim that I am some great Hollywood bigshot. The only thing I CAN tell you is that I'm a fan, and I want to see it done right. In other words, I'll do my best."
You can see some of his other work through the link below. With any luck (for fans of the old show), maybe someone will listen, though I hear that SEGA has been hard to work with on such matters.
