Capcom just released some new information via their investor website about the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Most of it we've heard before, but there are a few new details.
The movie, which stars Fighter femme fatale Chun Li as played by Kristen Kreuk, will be released in 2009 to celebrate 20 years of Street Fighter. Which came out in 1987. So, it's either a belated celebration, or they're secretly celebrating 22 years. Or they suck at math. Pick any answer you like, we're all winners here.
Michael Clark Duncan, Chris Klein, and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas are set to play Balrog, Charlie, and Vega respectively, and unmentioned was the previous casting of Rick Yune as Gen. But new to the cast is Neal McDonough, who will take on the role of M. "I Killed My Father Too, and You Don't Hear Me Whining About It" Bison.
The release ends on this pleasant note: "At Capcom, not only do we strive to make entertaining and profitable games, but we are also always endeavoring to lucratively develop our popular franchises in other media in ways that will please the fans." And they've done a splendid job in that so far, haven't they?

Editor's Take: I don't care what anybody says: Raul Julia as M. Bison was awesome and made the original movie worth watching. Bison was also great in the cartoon, too, so McDonough has a lot to live up to.
